SUMMARY
The Staff / Senior Accountant (depending on experience) will play a key role in the monthly accounting cycle, and assisting the Manager and VP Controller with special projects, as necessary, with an emphasis on improving team processes and procedures and efficient operational reporting.

The Staff / Senior Accountant will lead the complete & accounting by creating, analyzing, and reporting timely and accurate financial information for the fixed assets, liability & equity sections of our balance sheet. This role builds impactful working relationships to support business partners and to ensure all financial transactions are timely recorded and supported.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform the daily operations of the accounting function, including GL, account reconciliations, A/R invoice preparation
  • Complete month-end close in a timely manner
  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for assigned accounts including:
    • Fixed Assets
    • Leases accounting (ASC 842)
    • Liabilities – including accruals, debt, and other non-franchisee liabilities
    • Cash Journals – daily entries and monthly bank reconciliations
    • Others as assigned
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce monthly close analytics – income statement and balance sheet analysis
  • Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Provide support for quarter end close and financial reporting and audits
  • Provide support to corporate stores as needed
  • Create controls and ensure operating effectively for complete & accurate financial results
  • Assist with audit preparation
  • Participate in any special projects, and oversee team members to assist in completion
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
  • Preferred experience in audit- or general accounting, role will be Staff / Senior depending on experience
  • Preferred retail / franchisee experience
  • Demonstrated experience defining and analyzing financial metrics
  • Experience managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Microsoft Dynamics experience preferred

  • Strong Project Management skills and can manage multiple and competing priorities with a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail in a growth environment
  • Skills in MS Excel; strong working knowledge of MS Office
